Our sister company, Adventure Missoula, is the original outfitter of whitewater rafting through the famed Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork River. Our raft shop is located right at the river put in with private parking (39 Juniper Lane, Alberton MT 59820), changing rooms, and a gift shop. Our experienced staff will provide a fun and safe experience for people of all ages! Rafting the Alberton Gorge section on the Clark Fork River is considered to be the best family friendly whitewater rafting in the Northwest and world-class due to diverse scenery and river volume. It is along the route to Glacier National Park and 35 minutes west of Missoula, Montana just off Interstate 90. Participants drive daily to experience this trip from Coeur d’Alene and Spokane.
All trips include:Life Jackets, wet suits if needed for comfort, splash jackets, water shoes, guide, boat, paddles, shuttle back to your vehicle at our raft shop on the Clark Fork River, group transportation from Missoula (arrange in advance), and private parking. Full days include locally sourcedlunchfeaturing fresh garden grown produce grown on site.Free Shuttle Available for groups in Missoula (arrange in advance). Customers meet at ourriver shop. Shop is 30 min West of Missoula, Montana or 2 hour drive East from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Trips run April-November, weather permitting. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure for check in. Clark Fork River trips run roughly 2-3 hours on the water without lunch and 4-5 hours with lunch and an additional sandy beach stop to swim during mid summer weather. Water flow, traffic at the take out or put in, and paddling affect timing.Boats: We use outfitter grade NRS small sport boats that hold 6-8ppl. This provides our guides and customers quick maneuverability and a splashier and more intimate experience with nature and the river.

This is a big volume, big ride river with lots of roller coaster waves and fun class II-III (intermediate) rapids with names such as Boateater, Fang, Cliffside and Tumbleweed. Between the rapids are calm stretches with sandy beaches where you may jump in for a swim, or sit back and relax to enjoy the spectacular scenery. This 12 mile river trip provides 15 rapids and breath taking scenery down the world-class Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork River! The Clark Fork is the largest river in MT by volume. It is world-class whitewater that is safe for families (having a recovery flat stretch after each rapid). It is the largest river by volume in the state of MT and is quite possibly one of the prettiest stretches of whitewater in the west. Trips depart at 9am, 1pm, and 4pm Mountain Time daily. Lower Spokane Whitewater Trip April – June Mostly Class I, II, and Class III (depending on water level). Ages 6+This beginner whitewater trip runs 2 to 3 hours, depending on water flows. The difficulty level is beginner to moderate with mostly class II and has two punchy class III rapids. It is considered a beginner/intermediate river rafting option and good for ages 6 and over. This beginner level whitewater route is our most exciting on the Spokane River and the closest to both Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. If you have limited time or are traveling through Spokane, this trip is perfect for a breath of the outdoors and an excellent thrill. This trip provides the opportunity for some wild rapids and also some leisure time to enjoy the watershed through Riverside State Park in Washington with rafting games from guides as desired.
